Psoriasis and Eczema Sufferer’s Diet Cure Helps Thousands of Sufferers

Eczema is undoubtedly one of the most common health ailments in the U.S, affecting 31.6 million individuals or more than 10% of the American population.  There are various types of this skin condition, but all of them present symptoms like itchy, dry and scary skin that is typically covered in painful lesions.

Hanna’s Story

At the age of 35, Hanna had serious health problems.  Her fight with eczema worsened and her knees, legs, back, stomach, and elbows were covered with red bumps.  She was on so much pain that she was forced to wrap her skin in plastic prior getting dressed so that her clothes wouldn’t rub against her rashed skin.

“I cleared my psoriasis, eczema, and acne, and lost five stone in weight without trying.” Hanna reports,

“My recurring kidney infections disappeared, my bleeding gums healed and my energy levels bounced through the roof.”

How Diet Heals Eczema

It has been scientifically shown that eczema is an autoimmune disease, in which the immune system attacks healthy skin cells by confusing them with foreign invaders, leading to itchy and painful rashes and sores.

Even though there are various external triggers, including hot showers, stress and pollen, certain foods are undoubtedly the largest affecting factors.   Inflammatory foods and common food allergens put eczema sufferers in constant state of outbreak.

What is Hanna’s Diet

Hanna` diet involves eating plenty of veggies, whole foods, homemade juices, and drinking plenty of water.  It is important to mention that the diet might be different from person to person, depending on the triggers.

Foods to Avoid

An anti-eczema diet involves avoiding allergens like:

  • Alcohol
  • Soy
  • Meat
  • Dairy
  • Sugar and synthetic sugar alternatives
  • Caffeine
  • Nightshades
  • Wheat
  • Eggs
  • Peanuts

Note: Only because you suffer from eczema, doesn’t mean that you have to completely cut out these foods.  It is recommended to experiment with an elimination diet until you find out what your triggers are.

Foods to Include

Foods that you can eat plenty of include:

  • Green vegetables (kale, broccoli, cucumber, spinach, zucchini, arugula, brussel sprouts)
  • Other vegetables (cauliflower, cabbage, garlic, mushrooms, onions, carrots, celeriac, artichokes)
  • Squashes and Sweet Potatoes (pumpkin, buttercup, butternut, acorn, sweet potato)
  • Beets
  • Fermented foods (kombucha, sauerkraut, kimchi, and kefir)
  • Healthy fats (avocado, olives, various nut and seed butters)
  • Fruits
  • Herbs and Spices (turmeric, ginger, cinnamon, sage cayenne, cloves, and rosemary)
